We offer short-term rentals of 1+1 and 3+1 apartments in the southern region of Italy, specifically in northern Calabria, just over the border of the Basilicata region. Our apartments are located in the picturesque and historic town of Scalea a short distance from the sea.
Apartment Sofia
This completely renovated 1+1 apartment is on the second floor of an old residential building with an elevator in a peaceful area of the town. It is just a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 15-minute walk from the sea. There is a supermarket located within a 5 minute walking distance.
If you have a car, you can park it directly in front of the building. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove,an oven,a fridge,a freezer,an electric kettle, a moka coffee pot, and dishes. In the kitchen there is a sofa bed and air conditioning. In the bedroom there is a double bed, a TV and a mirrored wardrobe. The apartment is also equipped with a washing machine,a shower,a hair dryer and ironing facilities. Bed linen,bath towels and towels are provided. The covered terrace is furnished with a table and chairs. Our guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner on the terrace. In the evening they can relax there with a glass of wine thanks to the pleasant Calabrian climate. The terrace is shaded until about 1pm due to its west-facing position.

A minimum stay of 6 nights (fewer nights only according to agreement to cover remaining capacity).
Parking:There is a free private parking lot in front of the house. During September to July, parking is usually not an issue. However, in August, due to the high number of tourists, the parking lot is usually more occupied. Nevertheless, we have always managed to find a parking space.
If necessary, the gate chip will be provided to you with the apartment keys.

Check-out and leaving the apartment is on the last day of your stay by 10:00 am.
Parties and other events are not allowed.
Pets are not allowed.
Smoking is not allowed inside the apartment, only on the terrace.

If you are interested, I will be glad to advise you on an itinerary, taking into account the length of your stay or if you are traveling with children, for example. Before you leave home, I will also provide you with all the useful and important information you might need, such as a list of the nearest restaurants, shops, pharmacies and ATMs, as well as a train timetable to selected recommended destinations and a brochure with a map and the places I recommend visiting so that you don't have to find out on your own how to get to the center, the beach and the most beautiful places in Calabria. In the apartment there are beach umbrellas and board games.

Near the apartment, you will find a CONAD supermarket. Interspar and Scalea Shopping Village are 5 minutes´ drive away.

It is just a 5-minute walk from the train station and 8 minutes from the sea. There is a supermarket located just 5 minutes away from the apartment. Parking is available directly in front of the building if needed. The apartment features a fully equipped kitchen, including a stove with an oven, a fridge with a freezer, a kettle, a moka coffee pot, and dishes.There is a living room and two separate bedrooms, each with its own terrace.

Scalea
A village located in the province of Cosenza, with both medieval and modern characteristics.
Situated between the sea and the Calabrian hills, this town will charm you with its beautiful architecture, beaches and rich natural reservation. As you wander through its stair-lined streets, you'll discover the origin of its name.
The old town is surrounded by ancient defensive walls and thanks to its compact spaces, it has preserved the atmosphere of the past with typical shops and trattorias. Historic buildings and houses with Byzantine frescoes make this place unique. The ruins of a Norman castle can be found here, as in many other settlements of medieval origin in the province of Cosenza. From the top you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the roofs of the houses below, lower mountains and the nearby sea.
In the Palazzo dei Principi Spinelli, which dates back to the 13th century, you will admire valuable frescoes from the 17th century. The Cimalonga Tower, a former part of the city walls, is home to an interesting museum. The Church of Santa Maria d'Episcopio exhibits a painting by Paolo de Matteis, while in the Church of San Nicola di Platea you will see the tomb of the philosopher Gregorio Calopres and the sarcophagus of Admiral Ademar Romano.
The Talao Tower dominates the promenade. It was built as a watchtower in the 17th century and later it served as a military garrison and a meeting place of local artists. Along the Corso Mediterraneo, which runs parallel to the coast, there are shops, clubs, bakeries, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
Scalea Beach is an ideal destination if you want to enjoy water activities, relax in the sun with a refreshing drink, or taste delicious food in many seaside restaurants serving fish menus and Calabrian specialties. If you plan to visit Scalea during July and August, keep in mind that the town and its beaches are very popular with locals and tourists because of peak season.
This popular seaside destination is situated along the railway line that connects the main towns of the Calabrian coast, such as Diamante, Fuscaldo, Paola, and Praia a Mare. Exploring Scalea on foot is especially enjoyable due to the short distance between the coast and the old town.
